Based on an all-new type of contact system, the compact ASQ switch from Matsushita Electric Works uses sliding contacts with an ultralong overtravel stroke that absorbs variations in actuation Due to this innovative type of contact system, the switch makes no noise during operation and is both bounce and hysteresis free

Furthermore, the contact pressure does not depend on the operation stroke, and, as both contacts are gold plated, high contact reliability is ensured while switching low-level loads.

Measuring just 13.3 x 8.8 x 4.4mm, the ASQ switch is capable of switching up to 100mA/30V DC, but is sensitive enough to reliably switch 1mA/5V DC.

Offering additional space savings, the device allows direct operation from a lateral direction with just the pin plunger, thus dispensing with the need for an actuating lever.

The device offers effective IP67-rated level protection for use in adverse environments, which is achieved by using ultrasonic swaging technology to seal the rubber cap to the switch cap, as well as by using elastomer double moulding technology to seal the body and the cover.

The ASQ switch is therefore ideally suited for use in a great variety of industrial and household appliances and particularly automotive applications.

Available in a variety of terminals and contact arrangements, the ASQ switch can be obtained with or without side bosses and with a choice of pin plunger or lever actuators.

Moreover, the switch contains no harmful substances, such as mercury, lead, sexivalent chrome or cadmium, making it environmentally friendly.
