New name for Matsushita Electric Works

Milton Keynes based Matsushita Electric Works, with its brand name NaiS, has been renamed Panasonic Electric Works UK (PEWUK) and has adopted Panasonic as its new brand name.

Milton Keynes based Matsushita Electric Works, with its brand name NaiS, has been renamed Panasonic Electric Works UK (PEWUK) and has adopted Panasonic as its new brand name.

The company was originally incorporated into the Matsushita Electric Works group in 1989, now itself a part of the Panasonic global organisation.

Panasonic Electric Works UK offers a broad, well-established and respected product portfolio that includes relays, sensors and a wide range of components for the automation industry.

Components and complete systems are available for motion control, machine vision, laser marking and a host of other related applications.

Numerous bespoke products complement the overall product offering that is supported with local technical expertise throughout the UK and Ireland.

Under its new name PEWUK will be able to provide its customers with a wide range of benefits associated with having an affiliation with one of the largest, most well-known and respected global technology brands.

These include technology innovation leadership, substantial R and D investment, recognised high quality level, multiple production sites and integrated global logistics routes.

Commenting on the changes, Jim Naples, founding Managing Director of the original company - SDS-Relais - in 1981, and heading up the renamed business said: "This is an exciting and important development for our business".

"We are now in a position where we can offer our customers leading technological products backed by the dual benefits of big brand name infrastructure and small company personal, dedicated support".
