The MAX8715 boost convertor incorporates high-performance current-mode fixed-frequency PWM circuitry with a built-in 0.125W channel MOSFET to provide a highly efficient regulator with fast response.

The MAX8715 boost convertor incorporates high-performance current-mode fixed-frequency pulsewidth-modulation circuitry with a built-in 0.125W channel MOSFET to provide a highly efficient regulator with fast response The MAX8715 has a maximum current limit of 2.4A, which supports the supply requirements of most notebook and LCD monitor displays

High switching frequency (1.2 or 640MHz selectable) allows easy filtering and faster loop performance.

An external compensation pin provides the user with flexibility in determining loop dynamics, allowing the use of small, low equivalent-series-resistance (ESR) ceramic output capacitors.

Soft-start is programmed with an external capacitor, which sets the input-current ramp rate.

In shutdown mode, current consumption is reduced to 0.1mA.

The MAX8715 is available in a space-saving 8-pin microMAX package and operates over the extended temperature range (-40 to +85C).

Prices start at $3.11 (1000-up, FOB USA).

A pre-assembled evaluation kit is available with recommended external components to speed designs.
