Mezzanine card links telecomms lines
with Ethernet
AMC card is targeted at telecomms applications with extensive need for a high aggregation of multiple E1/T1/J1 interfaces combined with access to switched networks based on high bandwidth Ethernet.
New from Worcester based Meikon is the PowerQUICC III based NAMC-8560-xE1/T1/J1 - a next generation telecommunication interface board in AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card) form factor Manufactured by NAT, the NAMC-8560-xE1/T1/J1 is targeted at telecomms applications with extensive need for a high aggregation of multiple E1/T1/J1 interfaces combined with access to switched networks based on high bandwidth Ethernet

The NPMC-DSP is a multipurpose resource board in a PMC module targeted at telecomms applications with extensive need for voice or data computation.
The module has been optimised to process standard telecomms signalling protocols like SS7 as well as special payload handling algorithms in next generation systems based on AMC or ATCA standards.
The NAMC-8560-xE1 is built around the powerful Freescale Power QUICC III MPC8560 microprocessor (which offers core frequencies up to 1GHz), and employ's NAT's most sophisticated TDM to I-TDM convertor.
It provides eight E1/T1/J1 interfaces on the front panel as standard (16 optional), and provides a Gigabit Ethernet port for system interconnect (I-TDM) and two further 1000Base-T Ethernet ports (one on the front panel and the other at the common options region of the AMC connector) for access to LANs.
A unique feature of the NAMC-8560-xE1 is the use of NAT's next generation FPGA-based TDM switching matrix, offering a 32MHz clocked H.110-like TDM interface on the AMC extended connector region.
Moreover, using the user I/O pins of the AMC extended connector, the NAMC-8560-xE1 also provides E1/T1/J1 as rear I/O via a transition module.
The NAMC-8260-xE1 connects to the uTCA backplane or ATCA carrier by a x4 PCI-Express interface.
Extensive software support makes the NAMC-8560-xE1 an ideal choice for any voice/data application in any signalling or VoP solution such as in ISDN, SS7, ATM, VoIP or 3G environments.
