Windele takes charge of Europe for Mentor

Mentor Graphics has promoted Hanns Windele to Vice President for the company's European region.

Mentor Graphics has promoted Hanns Windele to Vice President for the company's European region.

Most recently the director of Mentor's Central European area, Windele, 46, brings almost 20 years of electronic design automation technical, sales and management experience to the team.

For the past 13 years he has held a variety of sales, marketing and management positions at Mentor.

Starting at Mentor as a sales engineer in Germany, he was promoted to the position of sales manager and European marketing director and most recently was the managing director of Western and Central Europe.

His experience has given him a deep knowledge of the business in Europe where he has proven to be a key contributor with a proven track record of results.

Previous experience includes technical management for CAE systems at Tektronix.

"I am pleased to announce Hanns' promotion", stated Don Maulsby, Mentor's senior vice president of World Trade.

"His main goal will be to maintain and grow Mentor's leading market share in Europe while continuing the company's strong customer focus on core technologies of verification, system design, SoC and HDL design".

Based in Mentor's European headquarters office, Windele holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from Technical University in Munich.

Windele replaces Karsten Popp, who left to become CEO of Adelante Technologies.
