Fibre communications conference calls for papers
The organisers of the FiberComm Conference 2005 are looking for papers to be presented at the event between 13th and 15th June 2005 at the International Congress Centre, Munich.
The FiberComm Conference 2005 will be held from 13th to 15th June 2005 at the International Congress Centre, Munich.
The conference theme is "Enabling strong networking: FiberComm meets business and markets".
This conference will cover current market developments and the general conditions that influence them.
Here, technical developments are just as much a part of the program as the latest industry analyses and business processes.
The main focus will be on "Optical market insights and perspectives", "NG-network architectures and products", and "Applications and business models".
The conference will be preceded by a tutorial day that will examine the following subjects: "Technologies the optical industry will need: from advanced devices to protocols to software elements", "Position and direction of FTTx from technical and commercial viewpoints", "Polymer fibre applications, ranging from in-house to the access network" and "The impact of recent standards efforts, such as ATCA, in the area of commercial, off-the-shelf platforms".
The conference programme will include both invited and contributed papers.
Experts from carriers, service providers, users, system vendors and other industry sectors are encouraged to submit unpublished papers on the topics of "Next-generation-network (NGN) architectures and products" and "Applications and business models".
The following specific issues are of interest: NGN - comparing evolution, migration, overlay, substitution, and convergence issues; key elements of the NGN - from optics to control planes; objectives and requirements of the agile optical network; IP-based core infrastructure; metro and SAN applications; service delivery platforms, triple-play; carrier Ethernet; applications and the competitive role of protocols, procedures and software network elements (MPLS, IP/MPLS, RPR, NMS, OSS); the latest from FTTx and its prospects; and business models to reduce capital and operational expenditure.
The detailed version of the call for papers is available on the Internet at www.fibercomm.de.
Contribution proposals (abstracts) for the congress must be submitted by 17th December 2004.
The target audience for this conference is made up of experts from the following areas: network operators, service providers, architects, planners, utility companies, cable network operators, manufacturers, system designers, corporate and business developers, system integrators, software and systems suppliers, scientific researchers, financial institutions, investors, analysts and consultants.
From the area of applications, the conference addresses large corporations that operate optical networks within their companies.
