Fair covers all of electronics manufacturing
According to the organisers, visitors to Productronica 2005 will have the opportunity to view the products and services offered by more than 1500 companies from Europe, the USA and Asia.
Productronica 2005 (15th to18th November) looks set to be as good as ever, according to Munich Trade Fairs International (MMI), which organises the event as part of its "Global Electronics" network.
More than 1500 companies represented, a packed conference programme that will highlight significant issues affecting the global electronics industry and a substantial Asian presence will all combine to make Munich the place to be in November for those interested in every aspect of electronics manufacturing.
Productronica is the only trade fair that presents every sector of the electronics manufacturing industry.
Exhibits range from the development process to manufacturing services and materials.
Productronica's product-group categories are organised in accordance with the way the industry works.
From innovative insertion techniques to product finishing, a number of new developments - many of them revolutionary - will be on display at this year`s fair.
When it comes to integrating all the links in the production chain, the world's fair for this industry is the ideal forum.
According to the organisers, visitors to Productronica 2005 will have the opportunity to view the products and services offered by more than 1500 companies from Europe, the USA and Asia.
Not surprisingly, lead-free production will be a topic in much evidence throughout all ten exhibition halls.
However, it will be given special attention in the "Lead-free interactive forum" in Hall A6, where visitors will find 180m2 of floor space dedicated to providing an outstanding opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of lead-free materials and production.
Here, numerous well-known manufacturers including Circatex, Dage, Finetech, Henkel Electronics Group, Kester, KIC, Kirsten Soldering AG, Pace Worldwide and Phoenix Contact will demonstrate lead-free processes and materials in a real production environment.
Visitors to Hall A6 will be able to experience and test all the systems set up in the lead-free production line with the systems operating in full production.
Here, the offerings range from a stencil printer and a pick-and-place system to a reflow and vapour phase soldering system, and from an inspection system for checking soldering points or for paste printing inspection to an automatic optical inspection (AOI) system, X-ray inspection system and in-circuit tester.
This makes it possible, for instance, to compare convection and vapour-phase reflow soldering.
Visitors will be able to gain practical experience with different lead-free alloys and test lead-free soldering techniques.
Finally, the reworking of conventional components and SMDs, the testing of cleaning systems for removing flux residues, and the inspection and testing of different solder joints will also be demonstrated.
There will also be a daily expert forum with a varying group of international experts moderated by Bob Willis, organiser and chair of the "Lead-free interactive forum" and an internationally recognised expert for surface mount technology and packaging.
Expanded and strengthened in every aspect, the EMS Village - the information and discussion platform for the providers and users of electronics manufacturing services, which was set up for the first time for Productronica 2003 - continues this year.
The American research company iSupply is forecasting a world market for the EMS Industry of US $164.4 billion for the year 2008 so it will become an even more significant sector of the electronics industry.
Visitors to the EMS Village will be able to see the latest developments within the following three areas: contract manufacturing for the production of components/circuit carriers; contract manufacturing for the production of assemblies and equipment; and development support services, such as prototyping.
This structured EMS exhibition will be supported by speaker presentations and panel discussions with experts from world-leading companies.
