The PowerStream 6100 is billed as the industry's first 6U VME system based on the Serial RapidIO interconnect fabric and compliant with the VXS (VITA 41.2) form factor standard.

The PowerStream 6100 is billed as the industry's first 6U VME system based on the Serial RapidIO interconnect fabric and compliant with the VXS (VITA 41.2) form factor standard.

The system provides the highest performance in the VME form factor with 761GFLOPS and 42Gbyte/s sustained fabric throughput.

Key portions of defense signals intelligence and radar applications are limited by fabric throughput capability.

The addition of Serial RapidIO to the PowerStream 6100 can nearly quadruple the amount of bandwidth.

Similarly, VXS can increase the number of radar/Sigint antenna channels in a given system by nearly four times that of today's systems.

The PowerStream 6100 system is a fully integrated multicomputer that combines a mature and sophisticated software development environment with RapidIO switch fabric communications, quad MPC7448 PowerPC modules, FPGA compute capability, and a broad set of I/O options in a serial RapidIO VXS chassis infrastructure.

PowerStream 6100 is available today with standard lead times, with the first system expected to ship this month.

PowerStream 6100 systems, in a base configuration that includes the chassis, two high-density compute modules, two RapidIO switch cards and a VME host, will sell for $92,000 in volume.
