The SDRF is an international industry association dedicated to supporting the development and deployment of software defined radio (SDR) systems that enable flexible and adaptable architectures in advanced wireless systems.
Membership tops more than 100 organisations and spans commercial, defense and civil government organisations, including wireless service providers, network operators, component and equipment manufacturers, hardware and software developers, regulatory agencies, and academia from Asia, Europe, and North America.
Mercury has been involved with the SDRF since 2000.
With its deep expertise in solving computationally intensive challenges in embedded applications, Mercury was selected by the Forum in 2006 to develop a reference waveform designed to promote increased proficiency for designers and developers.
The reference waveform software will be delivered in the third quarter of 2007 and will be made available on the Forum's website.
Murat Bicer, Product Marketing Manager for the Software Defined Radio Group at Mercury, was elected to the SDRF board as the Medium Company Representative.
The SDRF is the primary trade association in the commercial, civil and military software radio industry.
Participation in the SDRF enables Mercury to identify emerging trends in the industry as well as the requirements of various market segments.
With its active involvement in the SDRF, Mercury is also positioned to contribute to leadership in this developing field.
