Olesen replaces Bergqvist as Vice

Christian Olesen, CTO of Mobitex Technology has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Board for the Mobitex Association.

Christian Olesen, CTO of Mobitex Technology has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Board for the Mobitex Association, the worldwide forum for the Mobitex community of network operators, software developers, hardware manufacturers and customers He replaces Folke Bergqvist

Commenting, Kevin Swann, Chairman of the Board and Sales and Marketing Director for CML Microsystems: "Christian brings immense world wide experience within the narrowband field to the Mobitex board".

"He offers us in-depth technical knowledge from the perspective of system, architecture and software structure alike, and we believe his contribution to the continued success of Mobitex will be invaluable".

He added: "I would like to thank Folke Bergqvist for his contribution to the Mobitex Association during his period as Vice Chairman".

Christian Olesen has been engaged in the technical development of mobile data since the early 1990s in different positions within Ericsson and later Mobitex Technology.

During these years, he has worked in several senior positions, including Software Development and System Engineering Director.

Olesen holds a masters degree in electrical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology.

Olesen's first official duty will be to welcome members of the Mobitex Association attending its annual International Business and Networking Conference in New York City, USA, on 29th and 30th August 2005.

The conference will discuss the expanding application of this high reliability, narrow band, wireless data technology to mission critical communications.

A variety of in-depth case studies and new technology will be presented by members during the event, the agenda for which highlights real-world applications of this robust wireless data system in applications as diverse as federal and local government communications and machine-to-machine data transfer (M2M communications).
