3M Novec Engineered Fluids for contact cleaning, degreasing and flux removal are now available in convenient aerosol canisters.

3M Novec Engineered Fluids for contact cleaning, degreasing and flux removal are now available in convenient aerosol canisters.

Complementing the existing drums of Novec solvents - already widely used throughout the UK and Ireland - the aerosols give customers a convenient solution for when just small amounts of solvent are needed.

Unlike some other aerosols on the market, Novec aerosol cleaners are nonflammable and nonconductive, as well as having a short atmospheric lifetime.

In addition, the aerosols are nonozone depleting, as they do not contain HFCs HCFCs or HAPs, providing an environmentally responsible alternative to trichloroethylene (trike) and n-propyl-bromide (nPB).

"As Novec aerosols are very competitively priced, they also represent excellent value for money, in addition to their excellent health, safety and cleaning profile", says Mark Nursall, Technical Specialist, Electronics, 3M UK and Ireland.

There are three aerosols in the range: 3M Novec Aerosol Electronic Degreaser; 3M Novec Aerosol Contact Cleaner; and 3M Novec Flux Remover.

Available from appointed specialist 3M distributors, the aerosols are aimed primarily at users in the fields of electronic product design and manufacture.

The aerosols join the existing range of Novec solvents, designed to provide excellent cleaning performance, including low emissive and drag-out losses, all of which contribute to cost savings.

Novec has provides zero ozone depletion and low toxicity, helping users to address environmental and health and safety concerns.
