The Comet EX RT (7-11kVA) is a new double-conversion single-phase UPS with performance characteristics and features generally found only in three-phase UPSs.

The Comet EX RT can be supplied by two independent distribution systems, making it the first of its kind to be offered with separate AC inputs on a single-phase UPS.

To provide N+1 redundancy, two UPSs can be combined, and its standard manual bypass makes it possible to hot swap UPSs or batteries without interrupting the protected systems.

With a wide input voltage range (120 to 280V), the Comet EX RT rarely requires battery power, ensuring the availability of full backup power.

Batteries are automatically tested at user-set intervals, once a day or longer.

The Comet EX RT is available in a 6U two-in-one tower or 19in rack format.

It has two administration modes, namely point-to-point using Solution-Pac software, or remote via a simple web interface or integration in network-management platforms including HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli Netview and CA Unicenter.

For intuitive operation and immediate local monitoring of UPS status, Comet EX RT is supplied with a multilingual LCD screen offering a wide range of user settings and self-diagnostics.

In addition to the mounting and wiring accessories, this version includes an SNMP/web card and rail kits UPS and battery modules installation in bays.

Jason Koffler, UK Distribution Channel Manager comments: "With Comet EX RT, we achieve new heights in power protection for critical applications".

"This product offers availability levels never before reached by UPSs in this category, together with easy integration in any technical or computer room".

"It also comes with high-performance features such as a manual bypass and dual AC inputs as standard equipment - a first on the market, and its compact design (6U) and easy integration make it an ideal power-protection solution for networking equipment".
