Three new ultra-high-speed devices have been added to Micrel Semiconductor's growing portfolio of communications solutions in the company's proprietary ECL Pro logic family.

Three new ultra-high-speed devices have been added to Micrel Semiconductor's growing portfolio of communications solutions in the company's proprietary ECL Pro logic family The ECL Pro family of devices is a rapidly growing line of high-performance ECL logic, offering an easy upgrade path from On Semi's ECLinPS Lite devices

The three new additions to the ECL Pro family are: the SY10EP16V 3.3/5V differential receiver; the SY10EP58V 3.3/5V 2:1 multiplexer; and the SY10EP01V 3.3/5V 4-input OR/NOR gate.

The new ECL Pro devices are offered in SOIC-8 packaging and, for the first time, in tiny MSOP-8 packaging.

Micrel is the first manufacturer in the industry to offer these logic functions in Mini-SOP packaging, which is 50% of the size of a conventional SO-8 package.

"Increasing speeds in applications such as optical networking, SONET/SDH, telecomms, and communications test equipment now require higher performance, making ECL interface more popular", says Nana Lo, product marketing engineer.

"Micrel's ECL Pro devices were designed specifically to address these needs", Lo adds.

Pricing for the SY10EP16V, SY10EP58V and SY10EP01V starts at $5.94, 1000-off.
