The E800 ISDN multiplexer combines the functions of an eight-port E1 cross-connect and an eight-line ISDN switch in a compact module.

To improve the deployment and availability of FPRI and FE1 services, the new E800 ISDN multiplexer from Microtel combines the functions of an eight-port E1 cross-connect and an eight-line ISDN switch in a compact module.

The new unit is designed to deliver bundled services covering ISDN, Internet access and legacy data services when used in conjunction with Microtel's E141 and E201 access units.

The E800 is equally suited to the integration of these services for users in multi-tenant buildings or at the point of presence for a network service provider.

In a multitenant building, a distance of up to 1.5 km can be covered between the E800 and the access units using two twisted copper pairs.

The multiplexer will connect to several access units, and cross-connects the different FE1 data services into a single E1 trunk, while bundling the different fractional PRI (primary rate ISDN) lines onto a single PRI interface.

The E800 is available in desktop or rack-mount configurations.

When installed in a point-of-presence environment, several modules can be installed in a single 19in card nest.
