Gallium arsenide MMIC transmitters come in RoHS-compliant, surface mount technology packages, covering 10 to 45GHz.

Mimix Broadband has introduced a family of gallium arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) transmitters in RoHS-compliant, surface mount technology (SMT) packages, covering 10 to 45GHz.

The parts feature high linearity, gain control and broadband performance provided in low cost, standard QFN packages.

They are manufactured in state-of-the-art 0.15um GaAs pHEMT technology, integrate LO doublers, LO buffer amplifiers, balanced mixers and RF driver amplifiers, and are ideal for wireless communications applications such as millimetre-wave point-to-point radio, local multipoint distribution services (LMDS), satcom and vsat applications.

These highly integrated, multifunction devices provide a distinct advantage by reducing design effort, reducing cost, improving reliability and yield, and getting product to market faster.

"By offering these highly integrated transmitters in true surface mount packages, customers can lower their material and assembly costs compared with chip-and-wire assembly", stated Paul Beasly, Product Manager at Mimix Broadband.

"In addition, they can improve their time to market by using these packaged transmitters, which are 100% RF tested for specification compliance over a variety of environmental conditions".

Engineering samples are available today from stock, along with small production quantities.
