MIPS Technologies has licensed its popular MIPS32 4KEc processor core to Integrated Device Technology.
MIPS Technologies has licensed its popular MIPS32 4KEc processor core to Integrated Device Technology.
With this agreement, IDT expands on its 15-year history as a leading provider of high-performance solutions to the communications and networking markets using the industry-standard MIPS architecture.
"For more than a decade we have utilised the MIPS architecture to develop unique products that exceed our customers' demand for performance, power and cost sensitivity", said Phil Bourekas, Vice President and General Manager of the IDT Internetworking Products Division.
"Our most recent license of the 4KEc core will ensure that we continue to support network system requirements to process packets at high speeds.
Additionally, our continued use of the MIPS architecture enables IDT and our customers to leverage an extensive existing code base, as well as ensure access to a broad range of industry leading tools".
