Kato takes charge of purse strings
MIPS Technologies has promoted Mervin S Kato to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Kato has served as Vice President of Finance since May 2001 and Corporate Controller since May 1998.
He brings more than 30 years of high tech industry experience in finance and operations.
Previously, Kato was Controller of the MIPS Group at Silicon Graphics and was involved with the spin-out of the company from SGI in 1998.
Prior to joining SGI, Kato spent 15 years with Apple Computer, in various financial and operational management positions.
Kato holds a BS degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from San Jose State University.
