capabilities
Contract electronics manufacturer Mitsumi UK has boosted its service with an investment of a quarter of a million pounds in high-tech machinery to complement its surface mount manufacturing process.

In conjunction with SMT placement equipment, the company has invested in an additional Soltec-Vitronics solder reflow oven, which increases capacity and allows Mitsumi UK to expand into new markets, which require the processing of thermally efficient, aluminium based substrates as used extensively in the LED lighting and automotive industry.
And with the company currently working towards the global automotive accreditation TS16949 the additional capacity and capability will speed up Mitsumi UK's expansion into the automotive sector.

Mitsumi UK has a long term plan of further investment to improve the production process and facilities available to its current and potential customers.
The company was opened on Bede Industrial Estate in Jarrow back in 1987 producing radio and video tuners.
It went on to manufacture cable television set top boxes for the videotape and TV industry before moving into bespoke electronic design and contract manufacture.
The company now employs 65 skilled staff at the plant in Jarrow, South Tyneside, and is part of the massive global Mitsumi electronics empire which has more than 40,000 employees in plants across the Far East, USA and Europe.
