Digital signage delivers content to commuters
One of the largest digital transit information systems in North America is using Minicom's Video Display System to deliver content to commuters.
Minicom video distribution systems can be found in government installations such as public safety answering point (PSAP), military training rooms, post offices, and subway systems - wherever there's a need to drive home critical messages to the public.
"Government agencies, looking to disseminate and control critical information come to us because our video-over-Cat5 distribution systems and our families of KVM and video extenders scale well for typical PSAP and information delivery installations".
"We make it easy and affordable for them to deliver high quality, high definition video as well as critical PSAP information over long distances", says Dave Haar, Vice President of Sales.
Minicom's Video Display System (VDS) can distribute content in real-time from any type of computer/ player to any type of screen.
It transmits high quality video and audio over standard Cat5 cable to multiple screens over long distances of up to 110m.
"When you use a VDS system, you don't need additional computing power at the display side".
"For large digital display networks, this can add up to big savings".
"The VDS is the best value for the distance on the market today", added Haar.
Minicom KVM and video extenders provide real-time control for critical PSAP and control room installations.
They allow the consolidation of servers for both maintenance improvement and sound and space considerations while providing real time video and control at a dispatch or control location.
