DX and Phantom systems from Minicom Advanced Systems have been installed at ECI-EDS Israel.

DX and Phantom systems from Minicom Advanced Systems have been installed at ECI-EDS Israel One of the world's leading telecommunications equipment manufacturers, ECI-EDS operates hundreds of servers spread across a number of sites

The company wanted to simplify the process of accessing and controlling its diverse servers via the installation of Minicom's DX and Phantom systems.

Following the installation ECI-EDS now employs up to eight users to control their hundreds of servers via a secure out-of-band connection over Cat5 cable.

Additionally ECI-EDS staff can now remotely access the BIOS of their mission-critical computers from their workstations wherever they are in the world.

ECI-EDS's IT Manager, Yaron Pinto says: "There is no longer any need to physically run to the server room for every single problem".

"Thanks to the new remote access and control capability our server room is no longer a burden to manage but is more organised and easy to use".

According to Hanan Geva, Regional Sales Manager for Minicom Israel: "Minicom's DX system provides powerful data centre management based on KVM technology giving out-of-band BIOS level access to servers".

"The system features serial control, access over IP, power management and user administration capability".

"ECI-EDS choice of Minicom for such a large and important installation is clear proof of the confidence our partners show in the technological capability of our solutions".
