MMS Electronics has made available a free simulator and compiler that allows easy control and simulation of its EA range of touch screen display modules.

MMS Electronics has made available a free simulator and compiler that allows easy control and simulation of its EA range of touch screen display modules.

These graphics kits are ideal as low-cost HMIs for machinery, vending machines, navigation and EPOS systems.

The graphics kits are fully assembled control and operating units with a variety of integrated functions.

Simple graphics commands similar to those in a high-level programming language are used to control the display.

The control software comes with lots of graphics routines and a wide variety of fonts.

This means there is no longer any need for time consuming programming of character sets and graphics routines.

Nonvolatile memory is available to store program macros.

Once the macros are loaded the display can animate the screens, take action on touch and control the eight digital inputs and outputs, all without any further communication required over the RS232 or RS422 interface.

Further options are 5V or 9 to 35V supply, optoisolated I/O, two analogue inputs, analogue or resistive touch panel and a variety of bezels.

Prices start at around GBP 90 with many different alternatives available.

The latest addition is the colour KIT320F-8CTP quarter-VGA unit with touch screen.
