Growing quarter puts Melexis ahead of
schedule
Melexis has reported its results for the second quarter and half year 2006.

Melexis has developed a new programmable single chip CMOS LED driver for high-power (1W) LEDs.
Gross margin was Eur 21 million, an increase of 17.7% as well.
Income from operations was Eur 10.5 million, an increase of 23.5% compared with the previous year.
Net profit was Eur 8.5 million, 20 cent per share, an increase of 32.9% over the same quarter 2005.
R and D expenditures were at 13.6% of sales, selling and G and A at 7.4% of sales.
As a result, the company has revised its guidance for the year 2006.
Revenue growth and profit will exceed the top of the range of its previous guidance of 10 to 15%.
Rudi De Winter, CEO, comments: "The Q2 results confirm the good results achieved in Q1".
"The company continues to fulfil its goals better than expected in terms of revenue growth, in gross margin, in operating margin and in net margin".
Melexis repurchased 398,778 of its own shares in the second quarter for an average price of Eur 12.47 per share.
