Organic capacitors perform better for longer
New aluminium organic capacitors from Micromark C and CD sustain their capacitance at high operating frequencies, thereby enabling component count and system cost savings.
Clip gets a grip on thermal management
Micromark C and CD has a novel patented screwless clip to enhance the thermal performance and reliability of power electronic components when attached to heatsinks.
The excellent temperature stability and low ESR of the new multilayer ceramic chip capacitors, manufactured using the X5R dielectric, means that they are ideally suited for communications and instrumentation applications.
Using X5R in combination with new manufacturing techniques has enabled Murata to deliver increased capacitance in reduced or same size packaging in comparison with earlier devices, a distinct advantage for engineers seeking to meet the demand for ever smaller electronic devices.
The range is being expanded rapidly as qualification is completed.
The range using X5R currently comprises values of up to 0.33uF at 6.3V in a 0402 package, to 100.00uF at 6.3V in the 2220 pack.
Murata has also improved its MLCC transistor snubbers with the introduction of a new 630V low-loss COG dielectric.
The result is superior performance in a 1206 package freeing up board space from traditional low-loss capacitors.
Further improvements can be seen in heat generation at high frequencies, power handling capacity and equipment reliability.
Designated the GRM31A5C series it is available in the most popular values from 100 to 1000pF, with a guaranteed withstand voltage of 945V DC and operational up to 125C.
All products are available on both standard 7in and larger 13in reels for reduced assembly downtime.
