Micromark stars for Tyco

Tyco Electronics UK has awarded Abacus Group its Distributor of the Year Award for 2002 in recognition of the group's exceptional performance in a difficult market.

Tyco Electronics UK has awarded Abacus Group its Distributor of the Year Award for 2002 in recognition of the group's exceptional performance in a difficult market.

The Tyco franchise is managed by Abacus Group subsidiary, Micromark C and CD which has twice previously been named the Tyco Electronics Distributor of the Year in the UK in the nine year history of the programme, and in addition gained a Special Merit Award for its performance in 2001.

Tyco also recently added the Alcoswitch range of switches to the Abacus Group portfolio - bringing Micromark C and CD its first range of switches.

Ian McFadyen, Industry Manager - Distribution for Tyco Electronics (UK and Ireland) said, "Despite the difficult economic conditions, Abacus Group has worked effectively, in partnership with Tyco, to continue to build new customers and markets for our products.

In particular, the energy and focus of the franchise team at Micromark C and CD has been exceptional".

Abacus Group promotes the extensive range of interconnection, switch and relay products available from within the Tyco Electronics franchise.

The Franchise Management team is resident at the Maidenhead offices of subsidiary Micromark C and CD.

This team is responsible for business development, marketing and purchasing of Tyco products, for sale by the Abacus Group throughout the UK.
