Simtek's 128K x 8bit NVSRAM available from Micromark C and CD is a fast SRAM with a nonvolatile element embedded in each static memory cell, which enables fast secure data storage when power is lost or down.

The embedded elements incorporate Simtek's QuantumTrap silicon nitride nonvolatile storage technology to provide unlimited read and write cycles.

Data transfers from the SRAM to the nonvolatile elements can be initiated automatically on power down or under software control.

The recall operation can also take place under software control or on restoration of power.

An internal capacitor guarantees the store operation, even under extreme power-down slew rates or loss of power from "hot swapping".

The new family is processed on the new advanced 0.25 micron CMOS production line.

Access times of 25, 35 and 45ns in commercial, industrial or military specification are available.

The STK16CA8 is pin compatible with standard 128K x 8bit SRAMs, battery-backed RAM or EEPROM in a 32-pin DIP yet provides superior performance.

STK14CA8 is also available in SOIC and 48 SSOP packages.
