PXI Systems feature flexible I/O configuration
MEN Mikro Elektronik is launching a complete new range of PXI systems incorporating highly reliable system controllers, I/O boards and mezzanines.
Modules embed industrial I/O
Two new M-Modules are suitable for a wide range of applications requiring digital I/O or analogue switching.
The new SBC is MEN's latest 32bit CompactPCI platform, designed to accommodate Banias and Dothan Pentium M varieties between 1.1 and 1.8GHz as well as the Celeron M 600MHz.
Dedicated LV and ULV types keep heat dissipation to a minimum.
A specially designed heatsink efficiently removes heat in fanless systems or in high-temperature applications.
All processors used on the F9 are part of Intel's embedded line and have a guaranteed minimum availability of five years.
The BIOS from Phoenix is also particularly suitable for the demands of embedded applications.
Despite incorporating graphics, Gigabit Ethernet and dual USB on the front panel, as well as including 1Gbyte of DRAM main memory and optional CompactFlash or an onboard 1.8in hard disk, the F9 requires only a single slot on the CompactPCI bus.
Digital or analogue flat panels and CRTs can be connected to the F9's versatile DVI-I graphics interface.
The CompactFlash slot supports an ATA Flash card or an IBM Microdrive, or can alternatively be used for a hard disk, for faster access to larger volumes of data.
An expansion board that can be plugged to the left or right of the CPU board gives access to further PC-typical I/O, such as PS/2 keyboard/mouse, another USB, another serial interface and an optional AC97 audio codec and 2.5in hard disk.
If the application cannot use front I/O, the F9 can be extended by a rear I/O transition module to offer VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, PS/2, and USB ports at the J2/P2 backplane connector.
