Save space with shrinking USB connectors
The new series of mini-BTM USB connectors from Molex take up only about 1/8th of the space of standard USB-B connectors.
Power connectors meet SSI specifications
The new DPS/MPS power connectors from Molex meet the Server System Infrastructure (SSI) open specifications for backplanes.
IEC 61076-4-101 compliant, MZP is end-to-end stackable and based on increments of 25.00mm.
The system includes press-fit headers and receptacles using five rows of signal contacts and one or two rows of outer shield or ground contacts.
IEC standard versions such as Type A/B/C/CR/L/M in vertical and right-angle configurations are available for both backplane and daughtercard applications.
For CompactPCI requirements, MZP offers J1 to J5 receptacles that feature a pre-attached upper ground shield to provide controlled impedance for high-speed environments; and P1 to P5 headers in feed-to, feed-through and computer-telephony styles.
A total of 15 different press-fit contact lengths are offered for seqential mating, mid-plane configurations and hot-swapping capabilities.
A wide variety of code keys are also available, including CompactPCI specified colours, to provide polarisation and mating protection.
Novel features of the MZP system include an M-style press-fit pin design that provides four points of contact for a gas-tight connection.
Receptacles include a split-beam contact design that enables smooth insertion and strong contact retention.
Receptacles can be used with a separate lower shield that snaps easily into both the housing body and PCB, and includes grounding fingers to provide full frame grounding and low crosstalk.
The MZP system also includes other options for wire-to-board, power and higher speed applications.
These include I/O cable assemblies and shrouds for rear plug-up's in modular circuit size units of 25, 40 or 60.
Features include upper and lower shielding, and user-friendly latch designs for easy attachment and secure mating.
Plug and receptacle power modules are offered in 7.8A with different blade lengths for first-make/last break.
Type L and M mixed layout versions accommodate high current, coaxial or fibre optic contacts conforming to DIN specifications.
Accessories such as board-to-board shrouds and pin-protect inserts are also available.
