Designers can now customise their power connections with the new modular Power Dock connector system.

Designers can now customise their power connections with the new modular Power Dock connector system from Molex.

This board-to-board interconnect offers a broad range of options that include: vertical or right-angle board orientations; up to three separate power mating sequences; press-fit (compliant pin) or solder through-hole termination; 6- or 24-circuit signal modules; and self-aligning capabilities.

Power Dock connectors are ideal for connecting power supplies used in high-end computer and telecom equipment and are drop-in replaceable and intermateable with existing popular power connectors, giving customers a valuable second source.

The new connectors feature hot pluggable power contacts (rated up to 35A each) with an option to include signal circuits.

UL approval is pending.

Selecting the exact Power Dock connector system required is easy using the Power Dock Configurator website.

The website enables customers to choose the module components and the module sequence they need and then instantly receive a price, part number, drawing with basic dimensions and the option to order up to two samples.

The Power Dock Configurator website is already operational.
