Termination blocks boost contact density
A new range of 3.5mm pluggable terminal blocks allows designers to save valuable printed circuit board space and benefit from an industry standard mating interface and rising cage clamp termination.
Designers can now save valuable printed circuit board space and benefit from an industry standard mating interface and rising cage clamp termination with the introduction of the new 35 Series, 3.5mm pluggable Beau Eurostyle terminal blocks from Molex These terminal blocks are available in circuit sizes ranging from two to 20 circuits, and can handle up to 10A at 300V

Power connectors meet SSI specifications
The new DPS/MPS power connectors from Molex meet the Server System Infrastructure (SSI) open specifications for backplanes.
Because of their compact size, they are perfect for use in a variety of applications such as instrumentation, security systems, surveillance equipment and alarms.
Plus, their ruggedness and durability is ideal for process controls, factory automation, motion controls, motors and drives and other applications.
The new 3.5mm pitch terminal blocks offer a 30% density advantage over traditional 5.00mm terminal blocks.
The headers are surface mount compatible, which saves steps during the manufacturing process.
The blocks are available in both vertical and right angle configurations and also offer the option for retention inserts, providing a secure connection when used in tandem with the plugs incorporating the optional retention screws.
"3.5mm terminal blocks have gained widespread market acceptance and are increasingly growing as the terminal block of choice as an increasing number of higher density I/O applications are released", said Paul Silva, Product Manager, Molex Industrial Division.
"Their small size makes them perfect for low-level signal, I/O daughtercards and for other applications where printed circuit board real estate is limited".
Additional features of the new 3.5mm pluggable terminal blocks include: rising cage clamp termination, providing a secure and reliable connection without strand damage or intermittence; an industry standard mating interface; a surface mount compatible header; polarisation and key coding features to prevent mismating; and optional locking ears to secure plug to header in vibration environments, or where the possibility of deplugging could occur.
