Molex has added new cordset and receptacle versions within its RJ-45 product family.

Molex has added new cordset and receptacle versions within its RJ-45 product family The new RJ-45 EtherNet/IP cordsets and receptacles complement the existing product line by offering users both PCB and IDT receptacle versions, as well as overmoulded single and double ended bayonet style cordsets

Ideal in environments where EtherNet protocol is used, the RJ-45 product family is well-suited for manufacturing facilities supplying food and beverage, automotive and chemical industries; water treatment plants for waste water and municipal drinking water; and transportation hubs, such as airports, bus stations and rail stations.

To ensure optimum performance and reduce the risk of failure, even in extreme environments, the RJ-45 cordsets and receptacles are designed with one sealing surface.

As opposed to standard field wireable cordsets, Molex's overmoulded cordsets allow plug and play and quicker installation.

The bayonet style latch receptacle allows for fast and easy connections and guarantees proper depth when mating.

"These additions to the RJ-45 product family give our customers more cordset and receptacle options to choose from when trying to meet their EtherNet protocol needs", said Rob Sanville, Product Manager, Industrial Division, Molex.

"Not only can they select from the IDT and PCB receptacle versions, but the new cordsets also give them the flexibility to vary the cable length to fit their individual application need".

Both the cordsets and receptacles have IP67 and NEMA 6P ratings to prevent water and dust particles from affecting functional integrity.

They are category 5e specified, allowing for high data transmission speeds.

Plus, both the cordsets and receptacles meet the EtherNet/IP Specifications of both the Open DeviceNet Vendors Association and ControlNet Vendors Association.
