Molex has added the new backplane connector configurator to its website to help customers streamline the backplane connector design process This online tool gives registered users the opportunity to create daughtercard proposal drawings and their bill of materials quickly and efficiently

"Molex is constantly searching for ways to help its customers save time and money during the connector development process, without compromising design capabilities," said Steve Burke, product manager, Molex Incorporated.

"By adding the new backplane connector configurator tool to our website, users can create their own custom parts to develop proposal drawings in a matter of minutes as opposed to weeks, enabling them to significantly lower their costs, as well as speed up the overall design process".

The new backplane connector configurator allows users to have the flexibility to select from many available daughtercard components, including VHDM, VHDM-HSD, VHDM RAM and GbX backplane connectors.

By selecting from this list of available backplane products, users can choose their specific layouts to speed up the design process by avoiding confusion and mistakes normally associated with a manual process and, in turn, bring products to market faster.
