Save space with shrinking USB connectors
The new series of mini-BTM USB connectors from Molex take up only about 1/8th of the space of standard USB-B connectors.
Power connectors meet SSI specifications
The new DPS/MPS power connectors from Molex meet the Server System Infrastructure (SSI) open specifications for backplanes.
Available as vertical signal, power or mixed-power and signal assemblies, both versions are offered in either press-fit or solder tail terminations to fit standard PCBs or backplanes.
By offering 40.0A per contact segment, the Power Edge signal contact connectors offer 20% more current handling than the competition.
Additionally, the Power Edge signal contact connectors are available in two, three and four segments, offering greater flexibility than comparable products that only offer a two or three segment connector.
Also, Power Edge connectors can be stacked end-to-end in a variety of signal or mixed-power combinations, saving space and enabling them to mate with double-sided card edge lengths up to 203.2mm.
These newly added signal and mixed-power and signal assemblies are aptly suited for telecommunication applications such as networking, switches and routers; cellular communication equipment and mid to high range computing applications such as servers and storage systems for power supply and backplane architectures.
"The telecommunications and high-end computing markets are always seeking ways to achieve increased power capabilities and flexibility in smaller designs", said Michael Bean, Product Manager for Molex.
"By adding signal contact connectors to our already widely used Power Edge product family, Molex can provide its customers with high-performance, versatile connectors that deliver more power in smaller spaces".
Power Edge signal contact connectors have isolated contacts on both sides of the connector assembly segment.
These enable four independent circuits on each of the upper and lower side of the segment and make it possible for connector combinations of eight signal circuits per segment.
The Power Edge connectors are rated for current interruption, matching true hot-plugging requirements.
They are also compatible with other connectors, suitable for use as a drop-in replacement.
