Record quarter for Monterey

A Monterey Design Systems product story

Monterey Design Systems has recorded its highest ever revenues in the quarter to 31st March.

Monterey Design Systems has recorded its highest ever revenues in the quarter to 31st March.

The company's revenue grew by over 230% compared with the same period last year, and over 20% of that revenue resulted from tapeout fees.

The record revenue in a difficult economic environment demonstrates continuing customer adoption of the company's physical design solution.

The growing tapeout contribution is a direct result of the successful use of Monterey products.

Monterey pioneered the global access model (GAM) under which customers pay a yearly fee to access the software and an additional fee on successful completion of a tapeout.

This model aligns the company's business goals directly with those of its customers.

Because the model is inherently conservative in that a significant portion of revenue is delayed until the completion of the customer projects, the growth in revenue and the increasing contribution of the tapeout part is a clear indicator of customer adoption and success.

"During this last quarter, we saw a dramatic increase in the deployment of our software thanks to the performance and robustness of our 2.0 release", said Jacques Benkoski, CEO and President of Monterey, "The growth in tapeout revenue demonstrates both the success of our model and the impact of our software on our customers' success".
