Elcoteq joins Innovative Convergence fan club

Elcoteq, Europe's largest electronic manufacturing services company, is the 12th company to adopt Motorola's Innovative Convergence platforms.

Elcoteq, Europe's largest electronic manufacturing services (EMS) company, is the 12th company to adopt Motorola's Innovative Convergence platforms.

Elcoteq plans to use Motorola's i.200 and i.250 platforms to develop its customers' advanced wireless handsets for delivery of voice and high-speed data services.

"The Innovative Convergence platform is designed to enable us to reduce our customers' development costs and time to market", said Christer Harkonen, Senior Vice President of Elcoteq's Business Area Terminal Products.

The advanced i.200 and the i.250 platforms for GSM enhanced voice and GPRS voice and data cellular handsets and smartphones make it possible for Elcoteq to offer a comprehensive product portfolio, ranging from the voice centric applications of the i.200 platform to the GPRS rich-data features of the i.250 platform such as wireless application protocol, enhanced messaging service, and multimedia messaging service.

In addition, Motorola's i.200 and i.250 platforms are designed to enable Elcoteq to decrease time to market and reduce systems costs through a lower component count.
