Cores provide stable inductance

A MRC Components product story

Ferronics gapped toroid cores provide the stable inductance required in telecomms, power and automotive applications with increased DC current levels.

Ferronics gapped toroid cores provide the stable inductance required in telecomms, power and automotive applications with increased DC current levels.

Using the newest technology, Ferronics is able to provide tight-tolerance gaps down to 0.002in or 50um in production volumes.

With a normal tolerance inside +/-10% on inductance and the ability to maintain a stable inductance value over frequency and temperature at current levels well above 1A, Ferronics gapped toroid cores will provide the performance required in smaller, high-speed designs.

Curves of inductance index against DC field can be viewed on the reverse side for a range of part sizes.

Applications for the gapped toroids include ADSL filters, compact input or output chokes for convertors or switch-mode PSUs, and LAN applications like 100- or 1000Base-T.

Ferronics gapped toroid cores are available in standard Ferronics manganese zinc material with part sizes from 0.1 to 0.5in outside diameter.

Standard gap sizes range from 0.002 to 0.006in.

Cores are supplied coated with Parylene.
