Devices include: magnetic components for switching power supplies; high-frequency ferrite transformers of toroid, pot-core and other geometries; inductors of high-frequency ferrite, powdered iron, MPP or NI core material; bobbin coils; power transformers, 50/60Hz, laminated steel core; power chokes, 50/60Hz, laminated steel core; audio transformers; ferroresonant transformers; solenoids; magnetic amplifiers; three-phase transformers; air-core magnetics; surface-mount inductors and transformers; and both common- and differential-mode inductors for EMI filters.

Current designs encompass switch-mode power supplies, DC/DC convertors, filters and linear power supplies.

Frequencies covered are from 50Hz to over 500kHz with temperature Classes A to F.

SAE Power uses Class B, 130C material as a minimum and bobbins are UL94V2 or better.

Quality assurance (QA) and design engineers monitor manufacturing processes using statistical process control (SPC).

Winding uniformity, turns, inductance, hi-pot testing, and uniformity are monitored daily by QA.

Incoming inspection monitors quality on an AQL basis inspecting for dimensions, AL and adherence to vendor specifications.

Parameters such as Bsat, core permeability and losses are controlled tightly before the components are qualified for winding.

One hundred percent testing on all finished assemblies assures 100% acceptance at the customer's site, which allows considerable savings in inspection costs.

This attention to detail allows JIT dock-to-stock shipping.
