The HMC-C001 wideband LNA module is ideal for military EW/ECM, space, test equipment, wideband telecomms, microwave radio and industrial applications from 2 to 20GHz.

Hittite Microwave Corp has released the first product in a new line of connectorised modules.

The HMC-C001 wideband LNA module is ideal for military EW/ECM, space, test equipment, wideband telecomms, microwave radio and industrial applications from 2 to 20GHz.

The HMC-C001 is a GaAs MMIC pHEMT low noise distributed amplifier module which delivers a typical small signal gain of 15dB and excellent gain flatness of +/-0.5dB from 2 to 18GHz.

This high dynamic range LNA module offers a midband noise figure of 2.0dB and an output P1dB of +13.5dBm, while its self biased topology consumes only 65mA from a single positive supply between +9 and +15V.

The HMC-C001 is internally matched to 50ohm, unconditionally stable, and has integral voltage regulation, overvoltage protection, and DC blocked RF ports for robust operation.

The HMC-C001 uses a miniature, hermetically sealed housing.

Field replaceable SMA connectors are provided to allow mating with standard coaxial cable assemblies.

For drop-in microstrip or coplanar circuit applications, the RF connectors can readily be removed allowing the RF and DC pins of the module to be connected directly to a printed circuit board (PCB.

This new product line uses Hittite's standard wideband MMIC amplifier products taking advantage of the company's design, manufacturing and quality knowledge base.
