Hittite Microwave Corp has two new SiGe HBT gain block MMIC amplifiers for use in cellular/3G, FWA, CATV, microwave radio and test equipment applications from DC to 4GHz.

The HMC478ST89 and HMC478MP86 SiGe HBT gain blocks are fully matched to 50ohm, provide 22dB of gain, and can be used as cascadable gain stages in various RF and IF applications.

With +18dBm of output P1dB and +32dBm of output IP3 at 1GHz, the HMC478ST89 and HMC478MP86 can also be used as LO buffer amplifiers or as PA predrivers.

These versatile MMIC amplifiers operate from a single positive supply of +5 to +12V, consume only 62mA, and require no external matching components.

Both products offer a Class 1C (1000V HBM) ESD rating for more robust performance.

The HMC478ST89 is housed in an industry standard SOT89 surface mount package, whereas the HMC478MP86 is packaged in Micro-X.

Samples and evaluation PC boards are available from stock and can be ordered from MRC Components.
