Oscillator has ultra low phase noise

A MRC Components product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Apr 1, 2005

Ultra low phase noise oscillator provides typical phase noise performance of -128dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset across the entire 8 to 18GHz band and measures just 1.25in cube.

Teledyne Microwave, the leader in YIG products and subsystems, has added a new ultra low phase noise oscillator to their Ferretec product line.

The new FS2637 provides typical phase noise performance of -128dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset across the entire 8 to 18GHz band.

It is available in a small size 1.25in cube package.

Optional analog or digital drivers are available and the FS2637 comes in both commercial and military versions.

Key performance specifications include: Frequency Range: 8 to 18GHz; Phase Noise (100kHz offset): -128dBc/Hz typical -123dBc/Hz maximum; Output Power: +13dBm typical; Harmonics: -12dBc maximum; Spurious Output: -60dBc maximum; Temperature Range: 0 to +60 deg C; Tuning Sensitivity: 20MHz/mA; Bias Current at +12V: 175mA maximum; Bias Current at -5V: 30mA maximum; Heater Current at +12V, 25 deg C steady state: 70mA maximum and Heater Current/surge at turn on: 150mA typical.

The FS2637 was designed primarily for the test and instrumentation markets but it is also well suited for high frequency communication and EW systems.
