Digital attenuators deliver 0.25 dB resolution

Hittite Microwave announces five positive control GaAs MMIC digital attenuators that offer resolution to 0.25dB, excellent accuracy, high linearity, TTL/CMOS control and RoHS compliance.

Hittite Microwave, a supplier of complete MMIC for communication and military markets, announces five new positive control GaAs MMIC digital attenuators which offer resolution to 0.25dB, excellent accuracy, monotonic operation, high linearity, TTL/CMOS control and RoHS compliance.

The HMC539LP3(E) DC- 4GHz 5bit digital attenuator offers the Industry's first ultra fine resolution of 0.25dB.

Attenuation steps range from 0.25 to 7.75dB, with +/-0.05dB typical step error and +50dBm input IP3.

This highly accurate digital attenuator is an excellent alternative to MESFET voltage variable attenuators in applications where high IP3 is required throughout the attenuator's dynamic range.

The HMC540LP3(E) is a 4bit digital attenuator which operates from DC to 5.5GHz, and provides an attenuation range of 1 to 15dB in 1.0dB steps.

The high input IP3 of +50dBm and the low insertion loss of 1.1dB at 3.5GHz make this an excellent general purpose digital attenuator.

The HMC541LP3(E) 1bit digital attenuator is rated from DC to 5GHz, and provides a single attenuation step of 10dB.

This wideband digital attenuator offers very low VSWR, high +50dBm input IP3, and excellent attenuation accuracy of +/-0.2dB.

The HMC603MS10(E) and the HMC603QS16(E) are 0.5dB LSB 5bit digital attenuators covering 0.7 to 3.8GHz.

Both attenuators provide an attenuation range of 0.5 to 15.5dB, with +48dBm input IP3, and +/-0.2dB attenuation accuracy from 800 to 2700MHz.

Design engineers can choose between the popular MS10 and QS16 package styles, which are drop-in replacements to competitor digital attenuators.

The HMC539LP3(E), HMC540LP3(E) and HMC541LP3(E) are housed in leadless QFN 3 x 3mm SMT packages, while the HMC603MS10(E) and the HMC603QS16(E) are housed in 10 lead MSOP and 16 lead QSOP SMT packages respectively.

All five products are available in RoHS compliant packaging.
