Steward offers current compensated surface mount chokes for controller area networks (CANbus) in automotive and industrial controls applications.

Steward offers current compensated surface mount chokes for controller area networks (CANbus) in automotive and industrial controls applications These filter common mode noise currents and minimise emissions from high speed data lines

Smaller (1812) size parts are also available.

Features include: accurate current matching capability over a broad range of inductance values; sector wound coils at 25 and 51uH to filter differential mode noise from the data signal; open bottom case ( -00) versions are standard; economical common mode EMI filtering; compact size; low distortion; custom designs possible; and the parts are lead free.

The chokes are used in the following applications: automotive controller area network systems; industrial controller area network systems; medical monitoring systems; filtering common mode EMI on high speed differential lines such as network and telecomms applications; and serial communications with a maximum speed of 1Mbit/s across a distance of 40m (ISO11898).

The chokes can be also used also as transformers.

Steward produces an extensive line of ferrite products for Inductive and EMI filtering applications.

Products include ferrite EMI cable cores, connector plates, unique common mode chokes, CANbus chokes, high-current through-hole and surface mount components, impedance chip beads, surface mount inductors, toroid inductor cores and ferrite powders.
