RF multilayer ceramic capacitor offers high performance for a variety of high RF voltage and high RF current applications.

Morgan Electro Ceramics has launched a new RF multilayer ceramic capacitor The 10mm square, type 106, offers high capacitance and performance in a small unit volume and provides reliable operation for a variety of high RF voltage and high RF current applications

The type 106 is the latest addition to the company's popular range of multilayer ceramic capacitors.

There are now four multilayer capacitor case sizes in the range, from 10 to 20mm square and offering capacitances between 1 and 8200pF, operational voltages up to 7200V and power levels up to 25kVAr.

Morgan Electro Ceramics is continuing development, and a 6mm square capacitor will be available shortly.

The multilayer capacitors are constructed from a very low loss modified magnesium titanate ceramic and internal electrodes, which when sintered under controlled conditions, form a monolithic and hermetically sealed device.

They are available in a variety of end termination styles, including a completely nonmagnetic option, which allows distortion-free use with high value magnetic fields, and a nickel barrier end termination for refold soldering and surface mounting in the semiconductor chip market.

"Demands from industry are for higher performance systems in a smaller size", says Paul Turnbull, Product Manager, Morgan Electro Ceramics.

"With our capacitors a high capacitance value can be achieved in a minimal size, while maintaining reliability".

The company's materials scientists and applications engineers can design and manufacture capacitors for bespoke applications, offering a cost-effective solution for small quantity requirements to high volume product.
