Merlin BlueCOM-RS232 cable replacement modules have been designed to upgrade legacy systems that use RS232 to communicate with PCs or other devices via cables.
Available as a range of RS232 compatible Bluetooth products to wirelessly communicate with these devices, these products have configurable baud rates and are able to auto-identify and connect giving fully transparent wireless operation.
Modules are available for PC and PDA to RS232 device communication and for RS232 to RS232 device communication.
As with the embedded modules, the cable replacement products fully comply with Bluetooth specifications and provide a low cost solution with no specific knowledge of Bluetooth technology.
Typical applications for this new range of products will include automation systems, proportional valve control, data logging systems, remote monitor of sensors, data terminals, power switching and traffic systems.
Their low cost and easy implementation will appeal to manufacturers who wish to upgrade existing products, design Bluetooth into new products and otherwise evaluate this exciting area of wireless technology for new applications.
Merlin also supplies USB Bluetooth dongles for PC connectivity between Bluetooth compatible PCs, notebooks and mobile telephones.
