Marvell has released a new Discovery II-based development system for dual-processor, high-performance applications.

Marvell has released a new Discovery II-based development system for dual-processor, high-performance applications The system, which employs Marvell's industry-leading Discovery II system controller, two Motorola MPC7455 PowerPC processors and QNX operating system software, supports the Motorola MPX bus protocol, enabling high bandwidth performance

By adding this new system, Marvell now offers a complete line of development platforms for leading PowerPC microprocessors.

The Marvell DB-64360A2-2XMPC7455 development system will enable customers to rapidly design next-generation communications systems, such as routers, switches, wireless base stations and storage infrastructures.

"The Marvell Discovery II device is the only system controller in the industry to support SMP and MPX protocols", said Alon Hurwitz, Director of Marketing for Communications Controllers.

"Combined with our Discovery II development system and Motorola processors, our customers are now able to develop time-to-market, next-generation communications and storage products".
