TopDog WLAN solutions support the new IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 specification as approved during the latest round of balloting by the IEEE802.11 Working Group.

Marvell has confirmed that its TopDog WLAN solutions support the new IEEE802.11n Draft 2.0 specification as approved during the latest round of balloting by the IEEE802.11 Working Group This ratification is proof of the increasing maturity of 802.11n technology and its growing momentum toward international standardisation

"Marvell is very pleased that the industry has taken this huge step forward toward ratifying the 802.11n standard and toward seamless interoperability", said Dr Paramesh Gopi, Vice President and General Manager, Marvell's Emerging and Embedded Business Unit, Communications and Consumer Business Group.

"By supporting the Draft 2.0 specification, the Marvell TopDog products, which are available now in retail, offer superior performance and nurture the industry momentum toward standardisation".

Marvell TopDog WLAN includes multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technology which enables higher throughput and improved range over currently available 802.11-based products.

Supporting the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, as well as 20 and 40MHz channels, Marvell TopDog WLAN technology offers unprecedented levels of wireless connectivity with a peak performance varying from 150 to 600Mbit/s depending on the chipset.

Marvell TopDog is also completely interoperable and backward compatible with existing 802.11 solutions.

A recognised leader in the 802.11 WLAN market, Marvell has numerous customers shipping 802.11-based game devices, cellular handsets, digital cameras, MP3 players, VoIP handsets, PCs, access points, and other consumer devices.

Marvell WLAN technology connects all the elements of the digital consumer lifestyle, enabling unprecedented levels of wireless performance without compromising long range and the broad coverage demanded by the next generation of integrated audio/video/data applications and devices.
