COM Express module keeps power down
For applications in which low power consumption is of high importance, the CXB-CD945 COM Express module is based on the Intel Celeron M-Processor ULV 423.
Processor family offers scalable performance
The processor performance of the new ETX family is scalable through different assemblies using Intel Pentium M or Celeron M embedded processors.
The thermal design power (TDPmax) generates only 17W at 1.5GHz, which is almost half of the power consumed by the Merom processor T7400.
Thanks to the Intel 64 technology, this high-end module offers the flexibility to process both 64 and 32bit commands.
Thus, the board is ideal for use in embedded applications requiring high computing power and achieves optimal performance using the new Microsoft Vista operating system.
RAM can be extended up to a capacity of 2Gbyte by inserting a fast DDR2 module.
The CXB-CD945 COM Express system comes with innovative security functions that prevent unauthorised manipulation, misuse, or illegal copying of data and software.
In addition to the TrustedCore-BIOS from Phoenix Technologies, the TPM 1.2-Chip (Trusted Platform Module) from Infineon has been implemented on the module.
The module, based on the Intel 945GME mobile chipset, offers a wide selection of interfaces and expansion capabilities.
Aside from a PCI Express x16-interface and four PCI-Express x1-interfaces, eight USB 2.0 ports are available for communication with peripheral equipment.
Through an optional Intel 82573 gigabit LAN controller, a fast 10/100/1000Base-TX LAN connection can be established.
Large data volumes can be stored using the two SATA II-connections transfer rates up to 300Mbyte/s.
ACPI battery management and a watchdog timer are also implemented on the COM Express module.
