Multi-Tech Systems has a new range of cellular wireless embedded modems.
Multi-Tech Systems, a leading US manufacturer of data communications and telecommunications technology in suburban Minneapolis, has released two PCI-based cellular wireless modem products to meet such development requirements.
The new MultiModem internal wireless modems will be available in one and four modem models using the universal PCIbus technology implementing Edge, GPRS and CDMA cellular wireless standards.
"Adoption of cellular wireless technologies by the development community is occurring on all fronts", states Chip Harleman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Multi-Tech Systems: "We believe it will eventually replace dial-up lines in virtually all applications as pricing for the two services becomes closer".
"We all know that using an internal modem card is one of the cleanest ways to add a modem to a system".
"It reduces the box count and cuts down on cable clutter including one less power cable".
"Higher speed cellular technologies also have the added advantage of, in many cases, being faster than dial-up".

The new MultiModem cellular wireless modems are RoHS-compliant products are based on the Universal PCI design with either 3.3 or 5V operation, are tested for FCC, PTCRB, and CE compliance, and include drivers for Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Linux operating systems.
They also include an SMA antenna connector(s).
