Toolbox marries acquisition hardware and software
Users of Keithley Instruments' data acquisition boards can now communicate with their devices directly from Matlab via an interface provided with the Matlab Data Acquisition Toolbox.
Embedded target aids automatic code generation
The MathWorks has developed the Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555, an innovative tool for design engineers using Matlab and Simulink.
LeCroy's WaveMaster X-Stream Technology enables "round trip" communication with Matlab from the oscilloscope, allowing users to apply Matlab algorithms, perform specialised analyses or make parameter measurements while still viewing the result in the traditional oscilloscope environment.
Beginning today, shipments of LeCroy WaveMaster oscilloscopes will include 30-day fully functional evaluation copies of Matlab.
More information about the evaluation along with demonstration files and details on using Matlab with WaveMaster oscilloscopes can be found at www.lecroy.com/MATLAB.
"Many advanced users of digital oscilloscopes want to perform customised, perhaps even proprietary measurements", said Scott Bausback, LeCroy's chief operating officer.
"By completely integrating Matlab algorithms within the WaveMaster oscilloscope using our industry leading, proprietary X-Stream Technology, the user gets the best of both worlds - the flexibility of Matlab and the power of the WaveMaster".
"The results of our collaboration with LeCroy will meet the growing demand of users who need integrated measurement and analysis capabilities", said Richard Rovner, vice president of marketing, The MathWorks.
"The WaveMaster technology puts Matlab at the fingertips of oscilloscope users and will cut a significant amount of time and repetition from users' measurement and analysis applications".
Fully integrating Matlab on the WaveMaster oscilloscopes will allow users to directly apply Matlab algorithms to data as it is being collected - eliminating the time-consuming step of transferring data and viewing it in a separate program.
Users can access and apply Matlab algorithms through the WaveMaster XDEV interface in ways that are not possible with any other instrument.
Results of these algorithms can be displayed directly on the oscilloscope or sent to a Matlab figure window for further analysis and visualisation.
