Test leads maintain safety at high voltages
Testing high power distribution systems and panels can be safely carried out with the help of the latest test leads from Multi-Contact.
Test accessories enhance high-voltage safety
Multi-Contact's range of special test accessories is currently being widely adopted for use with insulation testing instruments up to 5kV.
All devices feature bayonet locking to prevent accidental disconnection, full disconnected touch protection and environmental sealing to IP65 when mated.
Cable, from 6 to 70mm2, is easily attached to the connectors using Multi-Contact's proprietary AxiClamp cable termination system.
Individual strands of the lead are screw-clamped to a metal cone by means of a tapered threaded sleeve.

Test accessories meet Cat IV requirements
Connectivity specialist Multi-Contact has launched a range of compatible test accessories for use in measurement category IV.
This provides a connection that has all the positive benefits of a crimp connection with the advantage that no crimping pliers or inserts are required.
Another major benefit that AxiClamp provides is that the clamps can be reused in the event of the lead being replaced.
The panel-mount receptacles are available as either flush or surface mount and can be fitted with micro switches, either to provide connection status indication or electrical system locking.
Mechanical locking to prevent unintentional disconnection is obtained by means of an optional locking ring which requires a special tool to release.
For dirty or wet environments optional protective caps and covers can be utilised to prevent ingress of dust and liquids in the disconnected state.
All connectors in the new range are rated at 1000V/250A, are fully insulated and exceed the requirements for encapsulated plug connectors protection against electric shock defined by IEC61984, DIN EN61984 and VDE0627.
The range is also designed to meet the standard for double and/or reinforced insulation and may be used as "connectors for class 2 equipment".
All sockets feature Multi-Contact's Multilam interconnect technology, a system that has been designed to offer the most efficient possible connection.
The unique louvre design means that contact is made over a large number of parallel current-carrying contact surfaces which ensure the lowest contact resistance, in turn leading to minimal voltage drop, less heat build up and therefore extended product life.
The connectors are suitable for a wide range of high power industrial applications, which include industrial coupling, switchgear, test rigs and standby power units.
