Boost for MPC500 processor development

Metrowerks has simplified the development of complex applications for the Motorola MPC500 family with the release of CodeWarrior Development Studio-MPC5xx Edition, Version 8.

Metrowerks has simplified the development of complex applications for the Motorola MPC500 family of processors containing PowerPC cores with the release of CodeWarrior Development Studio-MPC5xx Edition, Version 8.

The Version 8 toolkit merges key features and components into a single, intuitive integrated development environment to deliver a powerful development solution for the Motorola MPC500 processor family.

These comprehensive tools include hardware diagnostics, Flash programming, a search engine and text editor, a feature-rich debugger and an instruction set simulator.

Key feature enhancements include: highly efficient C/C++ compiler with optimised technology for fast, compact code; enhanced debugger with integrated logic analyser interface; integrated hardware diagnostics for board-level testing; and fast, intuitive Flash programming supporting the latest devices.

The MPC500 family of processors containing PowerPC cores is targeted at computationally intensive control and automation applications, such as industrial control, automotive, avionics, and networking service processors.

These devices are also well suited to perform a variety of functions in robotic equipment used in manufacturing processes, and health care equipment such as diagnostic equipment and drug dispensing/IV control.

The CodeWarrior Development Studio-MPC5xx Edition, Version 8, is priced at Eur 6040 per licence, which includes support and maintenance for the first year.
